Abstract
1,210,425. Compressed gas cylinder discharge device. T. FUJIMOTO. 7 Feb., 1968 [17 May, 1967; 27 Oct., 1967; 1 Nov., 1967], No. 6165/68. Heading F4P. A pierceable compressed gas container 13, Fig. 1, within a easing 1 is urged by a compressed coil spring 4 against a cutter 17 when water gains access through casing apertures 19 to a restrictor member 8 which together with a spring-engaging member 7 normally holds the spring 4 in its compressed condition; the compressive force or member 8 being less than the total force exerted by the spring. The member 8 may be calcium carbonate, calcium sulphate, sodium chloride, clay or gypsum. Manual discharge of the container is effected by pivoting a lever 21 about a pin 22 so as to depress a slidable plate 6, the compressed spring 4 and the container 13. In a modification the detent means 33, Fig. 4, has two arms 33a, 33b projecting into an inner casing 35 and held together by a water-collapsible member 34.
