Abstract

1,209,755. Bis-(pyrimidinylamino) stilbenes. FUJI SHASHIN FILM K.K. 31 Oct., 1967 [2 Nov., 1966], No. 49494/67. Heading C2C. [Also in Divisions C4 and G2] Di - sodium 4,4<SP>1</SP> - di - (4,6 - dichloropyrimidin- 2 - ylamino) - stilbene - 2,2<SP>1</SP>- disulphonate is prepared by mixing an aqueous acetone solution of di - sodium 4,4<SP>1 </SP>- diamino - stilbene - 2,2<SP>1</SP>- disulphonate with 2,4,6-trichloropyrimidine at 55-65‹ C. Di - sodium 4,4<SP>1</SP>- di - {4 - (naphth - 2 - ylamino) - 6 - (phenylamino) - pyrimidin - 2 - ylamino} - stilbene - 2,2<SP>1</SP>- disulphonate is prepared by heating under reflux a solution of the compound prepared above and #-naphthylamine in dimethylformamide in a nitrogen atmosphere and heating the resulting product under reflux in aniline and then adding the reaction product mixture to methanol to precipitate the desired product.
