Abstract
1,209,037. Nickel plating hollow bodies. HERMANN HEYE K. G. Oct. 26, 1967 [Oct. 26, 1966], No.40363/67. Heading C7F. A hollow body, e.g. a mould for glass articles is nickel-plated internally by flowing nickel plating solution from a tank 1 through the body and a discharge pipe 18 to a trough 3. The solution may be regenerated with e.g. nickel chloride and NaHB4 and returned to the tank 1. Gas from the plating reaction is withdrawn through a suction pipe 20. The two parts of the mould may be held together by a tension ring, Fig.4, (not shown). In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown) the inlet pipe may enter at the top of the body and extend downwardly to the bottom of the body. A potential may be supplied to the tank 1 to prevent plating of the tank. The trough 3 and regenerating tanks may be cooled.
