Abstract

The system for simultaneously topping up all the cells of an accumulator uses the advantages of the parallel and the series feed arrangements. The cover of each cell has an inlet with a stopper regulating the level of the liquid. The stopper has a deaerating tube extending into the cell chamber linking it with the external air through an opening. Refill of the cell is via a hole linking the cell chamber with the hollow space in the stopper. The stopper of all the cells are linked by horizontal distribution pipes which in turn are linked to the replenishment container. The container has a central overflow maintaining a fixed liquid level above the cell distribution system and the level in the stopper.
