Abstract

1,208,829. Washing bottles. WINTERWERB, STRENG & CO. G.m.b.H. 16 Dec., 1968 [5 April, 1968], No. 59656/68. Heading B8T. A crate for chain conveyer bottle cleaning machines comprises a tubular box 9, as shown, of generally hexagonal shape in transverse cross-section, open at the top and made of bent sheet metal with holes 11 in the bottom. Plastics bottle compartments 12 are provided with a pair of rectangular flanges 13 secured by nuts and bolts 14 to the flanges 10 either side of the open top of the box 9. At the bottom of the box 9 the bottle compartments 12 project through the holes 11. Holes 17 are provided in the box 9 for escape of cleaning fluid. The box 9 may be closed at the top but provided with additional holes in the top for the compartments 12. The compartments 12 may be fixed to the crate by downwardly projecting plugs (15), Fig. 4 (not shown), on the flange 13 having thickened ends which fit into corresponding bores in the flange 10.
