Abstract
1,207,796 Aryl sulphonyl ethyl phosphates. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. 7 Feb., 1969 [8 Feb., 1968], No. 6733/69. Heading C2C. Aryl sulphonyl ethyl phosphates of the general formula where Ar is a radical of the benzene or naphthalene series which may be substituted, R 1 is H or amino, R 2 is amino or a 3 - alkyl - pyrazol - (5) - one or 3 - carboxy - pyrazol - (5) - one radical, Y is C 1-4 alkylene, -NH- or -N- alkyl-, X is H or an alkali metal atom, an alkaline earth metal equivalent or an ammonium group, n is 0 or 1, and m is 1 or 2, are prepared by reacting a compound of formula where R<SP>1</SP> 1 is H or an amino, acylamino or nitro group, R<SP>1</SP> 2 is amino, acylamino, nitro, 3 - alkyl - pyrazol - (5) - one or 3 - carboxy - pyrazol - (5) - one, with (a) orthophosphoric acid (50-100 wt. per cent strength), optionally in the presence of an inert organic solvent, with distallation of water, or (b) phosphorus oxytrichloride, optionally in the presence of an inert solvent, and the resulting ester dichloride is hydrolysed, and the resulting products where R<SP>1</SP> 1 and R<SP>1</SP> 2 are nitro or N - acylamino are reduced or hydrolysed to yield the desired amino compounds, and the salts, where desired, are obtained by conventional methods.
