Abstract

Fixed sieves.-In a sifting-screen wherein movable angle-bars c' are arranged between, and parallel to, fixed angle-bars c mounted in an inclined frame b, b<1>, the movable bars are mounted in a movable frame d which is disposed below the fixed frame and is pivoted at the upper end e thereto below the fixed bars, means being provided for imparting an upward motion to the lower end of the movable frame. The upper ends of the bars c' are fixed to a transverse member d' of the frame d, the lower ends being supported from a lower transverse member d<2> bv bolts d<3> or the like. The lower end of the movable frame may be lifted by a hand-operated cord or flexible connexion, or it may be operated by means, such as an arm or lever c<1>, connected, as by linkwork f<2>, with a feed-flap f<1>. To ensure the movable bars coming to rest in proper position, cone-shaped projections may be formed on the fixed frame to engage with the angular recesses of the bars.
