Abstract
1,205,918. Oxidation of cyclohexane. VICKERS-ZIMMER A.G. PLANUNG UND BAU VON INDUSTRIEANLAGEN. 5 Aug., 1969 [22 Aug., 1968], No. 39168/69. Heading C2C. Cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone are manufactured by oxidizing cyclohexane in the liquid and/or gas phase with oxygen or a molecular oxygen-containing gas in the presence of ionizing radiation, preferably that from a cobalt-60-gamma source. The reaction preferably occurs under increased pressure at a temperature between 50 and 170 C. and in the presence of a catalyst such as a hydrocarbonsoluble cobalt, manganese or copper compound.
