Abstract

1,205,857. Diving suit. B. H. HAMPTON. 31 July, 1968 [7 Aug., 1967], No. 36508/68. Heading B7U. A diving suit has double walls of resilient material with an air gap between and is formed with shoulder portions 10, 11 having armholes, a front chest portion, and semi-cylindrical leg portions. The shoulder portions are releasably secured at the back of the neck, and the front and leg portions have straps securing them and air container 53 to the diver. Flaps F, L on the shoulder and leg portions are manually controllable by cords J passing through guides G and serve to adjust the diver's movement through the water. A motor on the front portion drives a propeller in a housing 43. The front portion also carries a camera 47, air compressor 44, radarscope 49 and batteries. A mash is connected to the air container 53 by pipe 55, and a pipe 60 is provided for orally introducing air into the space between the walls of the suit.
