Abstract
1,205,780. Gas storage container. D. K. R. JAWERTH. 29 Dec., 1967 [1 Jan., 1967], No. 59113/67. Heading F4P. A gas storage vessel 2, Fig. 1, comprises a frusto-conical or past-spherical lower portion 2a welded at its periphery to the upper portion 2b of the vessel and the vessel so formed is suspended from a surrounding ring 1a of a support frame 1 by elements 4, Fig. 4, each secured at one end to ring 1a and at the other end to an annular frusto-conical member 5 which is secured to and extends tangentially from the lower portion 2a so as to extend laterally beyond the upper portion 2b. A bracing ring 2c extends between the lower and upper portions 2a, 2b. The vessel 2 comprises an inner wall 7, a corrugated heat insulating layer 8 and a protective layer 9. In a modification the upper and lower conical portions are connected together by a cylindrical mid-portion of the vessel and in a further modification the lower portion 2b, Fig. 5 (not shown), of a spherical vessel is less than a hemisphere whilst the upper portion is correspondingly greater.
