Abstract

1,205,611. Electro-chemical machining tool. ASSOCIATED ENG. Ltd. May 10, 1968 [May 11, 1967], No. 22021/67. Heading C7B. An electro-chemical machining tool for performing a broaching operation to enlarge a hole in a metallic workpiece comprises a plurality of conducting members e.g. discs or washers 2 separated by isulating members, e.g. collars 3 of smaller cross-sectional area defining peripheral cavities 5, between successive conducting members the boundary of the tool being of tapered preferably frusto-conical form. The tip of the tool may be protected by an insulating domed cap 4. As shown, the metal discs or washers 2 are arranged upon and electrically connected to a stem 1 which is connected to the negative of a D. C. supply.
