Abstract

1,205,131. Photo-multipliers. MOSKOVSKY ORDENA LENINA AVIATSIONNY INSTITUT IMENI SERGO ORDZHOMKIDZE 13 Feb., 1968, No. 7103/68. Heading H1D. A photoreceiver for heterodyne reception of modulated light signals comprises a photoelectric surface which is excited by the light signals which pass through a pair of control electrodes connected to a local oscillator. In Fig. 2 the local oscillator signals are supplied to a cavity resonator 8 including a pair of poles adapted to influence the photo-cathode 10 and provided with an aperture 9 through which the incident radiation passes; the photo-electrons pass to an electron multiplier (not shown). In modification, Fig. 1 (not shown) the two control electrodes are in the form of external coatings on the envelope of the tube separated by a gap through which the radiation passes.
