Abstract

1,204,283. Heat radiators. J. P. FLORENTZ. 7 March, 1969 [14 March, 1968], No. 12065/69. Heading F4S. A heating radiator comprises upper and lower identical headers 4, 5, Fig. 1, each having two channels 4a, 4b and 5a, 5b respectively, the channel 4a of the lower header being connected to a heating fluid inlet, which fluid may be water, steam or oil, and having a partition 8 therein to direct all the fluid upwardly through a passage 3 formed between coaxial vertical tubes 1, 2 of a first element. The fluid thereafter passes into the channel 5a for passage downwardly through similar passages 3 in further elements for eventual outlet through channel 4b to a fluid heater (not shown) whilst a rising current of ambient air 6 passes upwardly through the tubes 2 to an upper chamber 15 and outlet 16, Fig. 4, for convective heating. The channel 5a communicates with the channel 5b having an air bleed valve 11 through apertures 10, and a space 12 having an open upper end is formed between the tubes 1 and upper header 5 to contain water to trap dirt contained in the heated air and humidify it before passage to the outlet 16. A removable or hinged shelf 13 allows access to the water trap 12.
