Abstract

Covers, wagon and like. - Tarpaulins or like covers b are secured to wagons, trucks, or similar vehicles by means of a running cord e secured at one end e<1> to the wagon d and laced through co-operating hooks, eyes, pulleys, or the like attached to the wagon and to the tarpaulin. The free end of the cord e is tightened by hand or by a winch and held by passing it round a suitable cleat. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the cord passes round a number of pulleys c on the sides and end of the wagon, and over hooks a attached to eyelets a<1> in the tarpaulin and arranged in staggered relation to the pulleys c. In modifications, the cord engages ring bolts on the wagon and has hooks threaded on it intermediate of the ring bolts, which are adapted to engage eyelets formed in the tarpaulin or attached to the ends of securing ropes passed over the tarpaulin.
