A collar 9 fits over the mouth 16 of a can so that it can be turned by its spout 10. The collar receives a plug 6 which is joined to it by a flexible strip 7 and has a rim 8 taking into a recess in the collar. An alternative form of collar (Fig. 7, not shown) is shaped to engage with a can mouth which has rolled-over edge.
