1,202,457. Printing apparatus. FRITZ BUSER A.G. MASCHINENFABRIK. 26 Sept., 1968 [26 Sept., 1967; 29 Aug., 1968], No. 45848/68. Heading B6C. A rotary screen printing machine incorporates a carrier 13 which conveys fabric or other material to be printed on through one or more printing stations, at each of which a stationary impression member 14 with two ridges 16, 17 is located below the carrier and vertically under a rotating cylindrical screen 1. Each impression member 14 is preferably vertically adjustable and may have a recessed portion 15 between transverse end ridges 16, 17 with a pressurized body 18 in it. Adjustment of compressed air, nitrogen or pressurized oil in the body 18 varies the force with which the impression member 14 presses against carrier 13, and so the force between squeegee 12 and screen 1. The top layer 26 of the impression member 14 is preferably of polytetrafluorethylene, so that carrier 13 slips easily over it.
