Abstract

1,201,945. Beams. POTTER INSTRUMENT CO. Inc. 19 Sept., 1967 [7 Oct., 1966], No. 42512/67. Heading E1W. [Also in Division B3] A lever member 3 positioned inside a hollow beam 4 is used to adjust the curvature of the beam. One end of the lever member has an adjusting screw 5 and at the mid-point there is a hump 6. Adjustment of the screw 5 causes the hump 6 to exert a force on the hollow beam, which deflects towards the dotted line 7.
