Abstract
1,201,415. Laundry systems. H. KRANTZ VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. [trading as H. KRANTZ]. 26 June, 1968 [16 Aug., 1967], No. 30613/68. Heading D1A. In a disinfecting and washing arrangement, a washing machine 5 with only one opening 17 is mounted in one compartment 4 of a laundry area with its opening adjacent an aperture 2 in a partition wall 1 leading to a second compartment 3 and the washing machine lid 18 is mounted on a frame 19 releasably secured to the washing machine housing and connected by a flexible annular collar 21 to the aperture 2, the lid 18 being closed relative to the frame 19 when the latter is detached from the housing so as to seal the two compartments from one another. The washing machine 5 comprises a rotatable drum 7 mounted in a housing 6 having members 13 in runners 14 supported on piston rods 15. When frame 19 is removed from housing 6 by piston rods 25, lid 18 is held closed by a bolt 20. During loading from "dirty" compartment 4, Fig. 1, frame 19 is removed and the housing is pivoted until opening 17 faces partly upwards when contaminated laundry is deposited from a hopper 24 with rollers 23 running on rails 22. The hopper is removed, opening 17 is closed and the housing is returned to horizontal position, Fig. 2, during washing and spin drying. When washing is complete,- bolt 20 is released and the housing tipped to empty the laundry through collar 21 into "clean" compartment 3. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 966,165.
