Abstract

1,201,240. Suction lifting devices. HERMAN BERSTORFF MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H 22 May, 1969 [29 June, 1968], No. 26232/69. Heading B8H. Apparatus for transferring strips of cord fabric 2, Fig. 1, from a table 1 to a conveyer, comprises suction devices 5 having heads 9, Fig. 2, mounted on hollow rods 8 which are urged downwards in housings 6 by springs 12. Suction is applied from a conduit 3 through ports 7. Each head may be moved to an inoperative position, in which the ports 7 are closed by the upper end of the rod 8, by opening a spring 11 to allow a piston 10 attached to the rod 8 to be raised above the spring and subsequently allowing the spring to contract below the piston, Fig. 4 (not shown). Fig. 6 shows the suction head in plan view.
