Abstract

1,200,678. Printing apparatus. A. T. ROSSI. 21 May, 1968 [2 Aug., 1967], No. 24262/68. Heading B6C. Cylindrical objects 2 to be printed on, such as bottles or cans, are delivered by conveyer 4, fed into holders D by feeder C and carried past one or more silk screen or other printing stations E, E<SP>1</SP>, where they are printed on as they revolve in the holders D. Frictional engagement of the objects 2 with resilient elements on rails 42 causes them to rotate continuously as they are moved past and between the printing stations E, E<SP>1</SP>, and so ensures that the impressions made at the printing stations are in register. Preferably squeegees 64 move over silk screens in the floors of containers 36 in step with the holders D, expressing paint or ink through the silk screens on to rotating bottles in the holders.
