Abstract
1,200,308. Vent plug, filler, and levelindicating device. ELECTRIC POWER STORAGE Ltd. 27 Nov., 1967 [28 Nov., 1966], No. 53234/66. Heading H1B. A vent plug-cum-filler for an electric storage cell has a lower part 1 extending down through an opening into the cell, a wider upper part 2 communicating with a passage 10-11-12 through the lower part so as to permit liquid to flow into the cell and gas to escape from it, baffling means through which the gas must pass, a removable cover 15 containing at least part of the baffling means, including a bed of granular material 17, and a float 23 housed in the lower part having a stem 24 extending up through a bore in the plug and having its upper end visible to act as a level indicator when the cover is removed or through a window 27 in the cover.
