Abstract

1,200,259. Vinyl pyrrolidone-vinyl acetate copolymer composition. PRECISION VALVE CORP. 30 July, 1968 [9 Oct., 1967], No. 36249/68. Heading C3P. [Also in Divisions A5 and C4] A composition for use as a hair preparation comprises (a) a vinyl pyrrolidone-vinyl acetate copolymer, (b) a water-soluble lanolin derivative, suitably an acetylated polyoxyethylene derivative, (c) stearyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride, (d) a solvent, and, optionally, (e) a germicide such as cetyl pyridinium chloride, (f) a perfume oil and (g), for use as an aerosol spray, a propellant. The amounts of each component by weight, based on the total composition exclusive of propellant, are (a) 1-5%, (b) 0À5-2% and (c) 0À25-1À25%. A colouring agent and an antistatic agent may also be included. The composition may be obtained by premixing various components and combining the premixes. The solvents are suitably water, ethanol, and cetyl alcohol.
