Abstract
1,199,078. Injection moulding machines. LUDWIG ENGEL KG MASCHINENFABRIK. 3 Aug., 1967 [11 Aug., l966], No. 35605/67. Heading B5A. An injection moulding machine comprises at least two independent injection units 1, 2, at least one of which is pivotable into different angular positions to give different positions of the sprues, at least one mould locking unit 4 and at least one mould, part of each mould being displaceable in a plane perpendicular to the direction of mould closure. As shown the injection units 1, 2 can be pivoted about axes lying in the junction plane T of the mould through any angle up to 90 degrees. The injection units may alternatively be pivotable in a vertical plane instead of a horizontal one. The machine may be used for making two-colour articles (Fig. 2, not shown). In Fig. 3 (not shown), both units inject into one mould while in Fig. 4 (not shown), each injects into a separate mould.
