Abstract

1,198,782. Azo-di-isobutyric acid amidine. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 30 Oct., 1968 [30 Jan., 1968], No. 51389/68. Heading C2C. Azo-di-isobutyric acid amidine may be prepared by treating a salt thereof, particularly the bis-hydrochloride, with an aqueous alkali metal hydroxide solution, preferably 10-20% aqueous NaOH, at a temperature of from - 15‹ to +25‹ C., separating the free base, washing with a polar solvent until substantially free of water and then drying in a conventional manner.
