Abstract

1,198,369. Coating with indium. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 8, 1968 [Feb. 11, 1967], No.6281/68. Heading C7F. The inner wall of a glass bulb is coated with indium preferably 20-60 microns thick by rolling a disc of indium against the inner wall of the bulb. The indium may contain 4% of germanium and/or aluminium. As shown in Fig.2 a glass bulb 5 is supported on rollers 1 and 3 and an indium disc 19 is rolled on to the inner surface of 5 by a roll 7 made of nylon. A counter-support 15 is pressed against rollers 12 and 14 on the outside of the bulb 5 which is then moved to and fro in the direction of the arrow 21.
