Abstract

1,198,275. Traversing-cutter apparatus. W. E. POSADAS. 28 Sept., 1967, No. 44247/67. Heading B4B. A device for cutting card and paper e.g. envelopes, comprises a cutting board 2 held in a metal tray 1 which is integral with a housing in which is slidably mounted a cutter assembly comprising a blade 3 and clamping plates 4 secured together by a bolt 11 and nut 6. A shank portion of the nut and the head of the bolt are slidable, by means of a finger piece 5, in aligned slots 9, 10. The housing has a slot 8 over which is positioned, when the dvice is used for slitting envelopes, a metal stop plate 7.
