Abstract

1,198,027. Electrostatic filters. THERMO ELECTRON CORP. 2 April, 1968 [6 April, 1967], No. 15905/68. Heading B2J. An electrostatic filter comprises positively charged filter elements intermingled with negatively charged filter elements and means for passing an aerosol through the filter, the entrained particles being attracted to the elements. The filter elements may comprise positively charged fibres intermingled or interwoven with negatively charged fibres. The elements may comprise particles forming to fluidized bed. The fluidizing gas enters at the bottom of a container 52 through a series of parallel tubes 68 and passes through the charged particles which may be cylinderical or spherical. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,124,405.
