Abstract

1,197,879. Vehicle window regulator. FIAT S.p.A. 29 May, 1969 [3 June, 1968], No. 27349/ 69. Heading E2M. A vehicle window regulator comprises a support member 1 with flanges 2 fitted with fastening screws 3. A cylindrical (barrel portion 6 extends on one side of the support member and has a lateral opening 6a and a series of forward extensions 7 and notches 8. The open end of the barrel 6 is provided with a cover 9 formed with a centre recess 12 for centering a drum, spring teeth 10 engagable in the notches 8 and slots 11 for receiving the extensions 7. The barrel 6 accommodates a take up drum 13 which has fastened to it both ends of a cable 26 and around which the cable is wound. A second cylindrical barrel portion 4 extends on the other side of the support and accommodates a driving member 32 which engages in a recess 18 and with projections 21 of the drum 13 to rotate the latter. A driving shaft 27 is connected to the driving member 32 and extends through a hole 5a in the bottom wall 5 to engage a crank on its outer portion 28. The barrel portion 4 also accommodates a helical spring 33 which acts as a friction member if or braking rotation of the unit. The support member, the drum and the cable are preferably composed of plastics.
