Abstract
1,197,832. Nut-tapping machines. LOOS & SCHMIDT. 29 March, 1968 [7 April, 1967]. No.15126/68. Heading B3N. An automatic nut tapping machine comprises a magazine which feeds nuts to a feed channel 15, a pair of rotatable discs 6, 7 for guiding the nuts up to a curved shank tap 3, and a camcontrolled pusher 14 for moving the nut up to the tap. Each of the discs is mounted in bearings 10, 11 and is vertically adjustable so as to vary the gap for the nut. Cam 12 for controlling pusher 14 is rotated by gearing 2 which also rotates the tap. In operation, a nut 16 passes through channel 15 on to the lower larger disc 6, and is moved on to the tap by pusher 14. During this movement the nut is guided by the discs 6, 7, which rotate so as to reduce friction.
