Abstract

1,197,716. Capsules containing adhesives. PRESSED STEEL FISHER Ltd. 26 Oct., 1967 [26 Oct., 1966], No. 47980/66. Heading B8C. [Also in Division B5] A two-component adhesive is contained within a single rupturable capsule divided into two parts separated by a barrier which is destroyed when the capsule is ruptured to allow the components to intermix. Examples relate to capsules comprising "Araldite" (Registered Trade Mark) adhesive. A preferred form consists of polythene sheeting welded together to form a strip of a series of capsules joined together by heavily welded portions. Each capsule is divided into four by weaker welds and the two pairs of non-adjacent portions of each capsule are filled with an epoxy resin and a hardener respectively and portions of the joining portions of the strip are cut out so that adhesive may pass from one side of the sheet to the other when it is released.
