1,197,520. Dispersions of anionic dyes. J. R. GEIGY A.G. 6 Dec., 1968 [8 Dec., 1967], No. 58088/68. Heading D1B. Dispersions of water-soluble anionic dyes comprise, a) water-soluble anionic dye e.g. acid wool dyes, reactive dyes and substantive dyes, b) at least one water-soluble salt consisting of the anion of an inorganic or organic mono- or polybasic acid and of the cation of an inorganic mono- or polyacid base, c) at least one dispersing agent d) optional auxiliaries e) water, the salt concentration being sufficiently high to ensure that the watersoluble dye is substantially undissolved. Preferably at least 10% by weight of a), and 0.2 - 15% by weight of c) are present. The preparation may be used for dyeing (after dilution with water) natural or regenerated cellulose, natural or synthetic polyamides, wool and cotton being specified.
