1,196,125. Linings for container closures. W. R. GRACE & CO. Ltd. 28 Sept., 1967 [30 Sept., 1966; 21 April, 1967], Nos. 18552/67 and 23215/67. Heading B8T. [Also in Divisions C3 and B5] Sealing gaskets for container closures comprising a block copolymer of styrene and butadiene or of vinyl pyridine and butadiene may be obtained by conventional moulding techniques and also by (a) compacting a pellet of the polymer to a thin disc in a closure shell; (b) reheating until it has partially reverted to its original shape; and (c) then moulding under pressure to the desired final shape by a cold moulding member. Optionally, the closure shell may be further heated prior to step (c). Certain olefin polymers may be blended with the block copolymer prior to moulding.
