Mattresses.-The adjusting-screws of a spring mattress are anchored at their inner ends by engagement with blocks or bolts .secured to the side members of the mattress. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 2, the adjusting-bolt d passes through a block a secured bv a dowel a<1>, engages a nut e' beyond the adjustable bar e, and enters a block g also secured by a dowel. In a modification, Fig. 4, the bolt engages a threaded hole in a bolt g<3> slidable in a slot b<2> in the side bar.
