Abstract

1,195,511. Rolled web dispensers. GEORGIA-PACIFIC CORP. 7 March, 1968 [8 March, 1967], No. 11156/68. Heading A4G. [Also in Divisions B8 and F2] A roll of sheet material 10 is formed on a supporting means 26, 12, 28, Fig. 1, of axial length unequal to the axial length of the roll to permit the automatic fall out of the supporting means from the dispenser 46, 48 on exhaustion of the roll. In Fig. 1 the supporting means comprises a core 16 having its ends flush with the roll ends and carrying at its ends trunnions 26, 28, each formed of an outer annulus 30, 38 engaging the core internally and joined by an internal web 42 to an inner annulus 32, 40 protruding axially of the core. On depletion of the roll, annulus 32 falls down cam 50 on the dispenser part 46 and the other inner annulus 40 moves axially into recess 55 on dispenser part 48 which has a cut-out 54 accommodating outer annulus 38 and core end 20 and a trunnion support flange 56 received within trunnion recess 44. Eventually the support means drops out of the dispenser. The roll is braked by rubbing at 52 on dispenser part 48. Inner annulus 32 nests within inner annulus 40 of another roll to permit stacking of rolls. The core 16 may be in two abutting or spaced portions, the spaced portions may protrude at the roll ends to enter the dispenser bearings or the outer ends of the spaced portions receive stub spindles carried by the dispenser.
