Abstract

1, 194,779. Calliper gauges. H. MEYER. Oct. 29, 1968 [Dec. 12, 1967], No. 51131/68. Heading G1M. A beam consisting of a bar 1, a jaw 30, and an end-piece 31 is fixed to plates 2 which support a scale bar 3, a rear bar 33, and a slider mounting mating jaws, the slider comprising plate parts 17 15, 16, 18 and intermediate parts 4, 5 and 32 all held together by screws 9. The slider may be locked in position by turning a screw 8 to press down a resilient wedge 6, and a pinion 20 meshing with a toothed rack 1a carries a toothed wheel 22 on its axle 21 and drives a further pinion 24 and a numbered disc 23 covered by a windowed disc 19. The rack 1a is protected by a sealing strip 10 of steel or plastics that passes around wheels 11 journalled between the parts of the beam and over curved guides 4b and 5a, the strip being held in the slider between eccentric parts 14 pressing against a pin 13.
