Abstract

1,193,796. Digital transmission systems. SIEMENS A.G. 19 July, 1968 [20 July, 1967], No. 34443/68. Heading H4P. In a D.C. digital transmission system control signals, e.g. switching and dialling signals, are transmitted as voltages of higher amplitude than that used for the data, the control signals being evaluated in terms only of their amplitude. The embodiment described discloses a duplex system in which both stations receive data on input DE or control signals on SE. Units SG generate D.C. voltages of a level characteristic of the control signals, the voltages having shallow leading and trailing edges. The data signals and control voltages are passed to line Ltg via switches u. The data signals are separated at the receivers by units LV and appear on outputs DA. The control voltages are separated by threshold units, e.g. Zener diodes, and are converted to control signals by units SB.
