Abstract

1,193,785. Pure fluid amplifiers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Feb. 9, 1968 [Feb. 28, 1967], No. 6605/68. Heading G3H. The gain of a pure fluid, momentum exchange, amplifier 5 is varied by adjusting the fixed bias pressure at the control nozzle 23 which acts on a co-planar, continuously varying, power stream issuing from nozzle 9. As shown a pair of identical push-pull connected analogue amplifiers 5, 6 have control nozzles 23, 26 fed with a common bias pressure P B pressure receivers 10, 11, vents 28, 31, 36, 37 and inlet nozzles 9, 19 fed respectively with pressures P 11 , P 12 which each consist of a variable input signal to be amplified superimposed on a steady carrier pressure. In operation the carrier and bias pressures are adjusted so that the amplifier operates on the desired part of the input/output curve Fig. 3 (not shown) with the required positive or negative gain characteristics Specification 1, 141, 019 and 1, 193, 786 are referred to.
