A bag formed of laminated transparent sheet material has one of its sides rendered opaque by including pigment in the portion of the sheet material forming this side. The pigment may be a metal oxide, e.g. titanium dioxide, a metal powder, e.g. aluminium or bronze, or carbon black. The pigment may be embedded in one or more of the component sheets of the laminated material and/or it may be located between adjacent sheets by admixing it with adhesive. The laminated material may comprise sheets of synthetic plastics material or it may comprise a sheet or sheets of cellulose with one or more plastics sheets.
