Abstract

1,192,523. Naphthalene derivatives. WARD BLENKINSOP & CO. Ltd. 14 Jan., 1969 [15 Jan., 1968], No. 2211/68. Heading C2C. Compounds of the general formula (R = C 1-6 alkyl; R<SP>1</SP>'<SP>2</SP>= -C n H 2n X in which n = 2-4 and X = Cl or Br present as a substituent on a carbon atom other than that which is linked to N) are prepared by treating a compound of the formula (R<SP>3,4</SP> = C 2-4 alkylol group in which the OH group is present on a carbon atom other than that which is linked to N) or an acid addition salt thereof with a chlorinating or brominating agent. The starting materials are prepared by standard methods. The compounds of the invention are of interest in the treatment of lymphosarcomas and forms of carcinoma and leukaemia.
