Abstract
1,191,917. Toy boat. IDEAL TOP CORP. 20 Nov., 1967 [16 March, 1967], No.52631/67. Heading A6S. A toy boat comprises a hull assembly 12 adapted for interchangeable assembly. with any one of a plurality of boat bodies, and consists of a hull (14) which defines a .motor compartment 14b, a battery operated motor 34 in the motor compartment for powering the boat, an energisation circuit for the motor including at least one pair of circuit contacts and a moveable switch having an open and closed position with respect to the pairs of circuit contacts, a moveably mounted rudder 46 having predetermined steering positions and a non-steering position and actuating means 46c operatively connected between, the rudder and the switch such that when the rudder 46 is moved to the steering 'position it produces rotative movement in the actuating member 46c which in turn closes the switch element 3Od against motor contact 34b and thereby completes the motor energisation circuit. On completion of the circuit the drive shaft 38 and the propeller 40 mounted thereon are driven and cause movement of the boat. At the other end of. the drive shaft 38 is a compound ,gear 42 which meshes with drive gear 36 and also with a second drive gear 44 which operates a pump 48 which removes water from the motor compartment via conduit 58 exiting from.'the hull above the normal water line of the boat. A battery cradle for the two batteries B 1 ,. B 2 is, defined 'by the bottom wall of member 22 and a 'pair of medial upstanding walls 22a and 2Zb on the member 22 cooperating with the front battery contacts 28b, 28c and the rear battery contacts 30b, 32b.
