Abstract

1,102,545. Captive aircraft R. A. WOLFE. 20 April, 1965 [17 April, 1964], No. 16594/65. Heading A6S. A toy space ship comprises a captive balloon having means to remotely control the directional movement of said balloon. The balloon A is provided with an elevating reversible motor beneath the balloon and reversible motors mounted each side thereof, driven through a five-way cable C by batteries in a control unit D. A 3-position switch 44 is movable to one or other extreme positions to drive the underneath motor in one or other direction (up or down), while a 5-position switch 116 (see Specification 1,102,546), is used to control directional and rotational movement of the balloon. In forward position of this switch, both side motors are driven forwardly, while in rearward position both motors are reversed. When switch 116 is moved to the right, the leftside motor drives forwardly and the rightside motor rearwardly to produce righthand turning, while moving the switch 116 to the left reverses the directions of the motors and produces lefthand turning.
