Abstract

1,191,374. Apparatus for ejecting balls from golf cups. J. A. ENGLISH. 14 May, 1968, No. 22955/68. Heading A6D. An apparatus is provided which is able to eject a golf ball from a golf cup when the ball is putted into it, the presence. of a flagstick would prevent the operation of the device. In Fig. 1 a golf cup 11 which fits into a golf hole 12 contains a support member 13 which carries guide members 19 which direct a golf ball to seat 20, where it engages element 23 which forces wire 25 downwardly through the elongated member 18 to close switch 90 of an electric circuit containing drive means 49 to rotate shaft 48 cam 73 and gears 74 and 75. When pin 95 is released spring 88 extends the arms 80 and. 81 which move elongated member 18 and seat 20 upwardly out of the cup to eject the golf ball. The apparatus is powered by batteries and has an automatic reset device and is able to eject balls in different directions.
