Abstract

1,191,143. Oxidation catalysts. CESKOSLOVENSKA AKADEMIE VED. 26 May, 1967 [30 May, 1966], No. 24499/67. Heading B1E. [Also in Division C2] Oxidation catalysts containing FeMoO 4 are made by intimately mixing a dry iron-containing component selected from metallic iron, Fe 2 O 3 , an oxygen-containing compound of iron or precursors therefor, with a dry molybdenum-containing component selected from metallic Mo, an oxygen-containing compound of Mo or precursors therefor, and subjecting the dry parent mixture to "annealing" at a temperature of from 200-790‹C. in a medium containing free oxygen. In examples (1) Fe 2 O 3 and MoO 3 are ground, mixed and heated at 350‹C. followed by heating at 650‹C(2) FeMoO 4 is similarly treated (3) (NH 4 ) 6 Mo 7 O 24 and Fe(NO 3 ) 3 are used and (4) (NH 4 ) 6 Mo 7 O 24 and Fe . NH 4 (OOC) 4 are used.
