Abstract

119,094. Netherton, W. Sept. 20, 1917. Hair-curling appliances.-An appliance for curling or waving hair comprises an internally heated concave cylinder 1 of metal, around which the hair is wound while damp. The cylinder may be open at both ends for the reception of a separate heater or two heaters, which may be an electrical heater composed of a mica strip 5 wound with wire 6 covered on each side by a sheet of mica 10. A lamp or variable resistance may be fitted in a plug 11 or in the circuit. A handle 13 may be fitted at one end, and when in use, the cylinder may be covered by a spring clip 14, Fig. 6, having an extension 15 to protect the scalp, and notches 19 by which it may be adjustably suspended by a. cord &c. from a ceiling fitting 21, Fig. 5.
