Abstract
1,190,596. Parachutes. G. Q. PARACHUTE CO. Ltd. 6 Sept., 1968 [4 Oct., 1967; 2 March, 1968], Nos. 45107/67 and 10277/68. Heading B7G. A parachute comprises a rectangular crown 18 tied adjacent its edges to four arm sections 13, 14, 15 and 16; the crown edges comprise four skirts, two of which are visible at 22 and 23, the skirts overlapping the joins between the crown and the arm sections. Rigging lines 17 are connected to the arms and support a load 19 by webbing strops 43 and a hook 44. The crown and arms may be made of a woven polypropylene or other material, and each may comprise several pieces of material stitched or otherwise joined together. Reinforcing tapes may be stitched or otherwise joined to the crown and arm sections, for example at the seams between the several pieces of material of which the crown or arms may be composed, and may be extended beyond the crown or arm sections for use in connecting the arms to the crown or to the rigging lines, though other joining means may be used. Other profiles of crown, for example any regular polygonal shape, with an appropriate number of arms may be used.
