Abstract
1,190,362. 362. Gas turbine ducted fan engines. DOWTY ROTOL Ltd. April 11, 1967 [April 12, 1966; May 25, 1966; Sept.12, 1966], Nos.16221/67, 15966/67 and 40543/66. Heading F1J. A gas turbine ducted fan by-pass type engine comprises a fan having flow-varying blading rotatable in a duct, the fan being mounted ahead of the compressor of the engine and having its blading effectively adjustable under the control of a servosystem which is housed at least in part within a hub structure of the fan, the hub structure, blading and servo-system being arranged to rotate as an assembly co-axially with the engine turbine by which it is driven. The invention is described with reference to two embodiments which are similar to the embodiments described with reference to Figures 1, 2 and 3 of co-pending Application No. 16008/66, although different reference numerals are used in the corresponding Figures of the two Specifications.
