Abstract

1,041,116. Helicopters. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. April 20, 1965 [April 27, 1964], No. 17447/64. Heading B7W. A helicopter rotor comprises a pair of aligned shafts 13 attached directly or indirectly to each other and to the rotor head 11 and each supporting at its outer end a gas turbine jet propulsion engine 12. When the rotor is stationary the weight of each engine and shaft is supported by a tie member 15. Sleeves 14, capable of pitch adjustment are mounted on shafts 13. The shafts 13 may be mounted on drag hinges.
