Abstract
1,190,320. Toy wheeled vehicle. CHARM YING MFG. CO. Ltd. 23 Aug., 1968, No. 40533/68. Heading A6S. A toy wheeled vehicle comprises a body mounted on two pairs of wheels, one pair being mounted on an axle which is supported on a turntable pivotally mounted on the chassis for movement about a vertical axis producing a steering mechanism, the axle having a gear mounted on it which is in contact with a series of pinions gears, the axle being rotated by a battery powered motor through the gears and pinions. The chassis houses the battery and motor. As shown, 10 is a platform for the electric motor 11, and has a boss 30 through which a vertical shaft 31 is inserted. The battery is housed in housing 8. A large diameter gear wheel 32 and pinion 33 are secured on the lower end of the shaft. Gear 32 meshes with pinion. 34 on the lower end of the output shaft of motor 11. The gear wheel and pinion are fixed between plates 10 and 36. An aperture is formed in plate 36 centred on the shaft 31. A bevelled gear 46 is fixed on the axle 44 and is in mesh with 33 on shaft 31. Thus drive from motor 11 is transinitted through pinion 34, gear wheel 32, pinion 33 and gear 46 to the rear axle 44. The rotation of the turntable is restricted by fin 41 a and rib 42. The turntable is held in position by friction between the turntable and plate 36. A knocking sound can be produced by spring 50 and a peg 51 eccentrically secured on gear wheel 32.
