Abstract

1,190,273. Non-stick lining compositions. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DES SILICONES. 10 May, 1967 [10 May, 1966], No. 21662/67. Heading C3T. A composition comprises a curable organopolysiloxane containing Si-bonded H atoms, alkyl or aryl radicals and an Si-bonded OH or hydrolysable group or an unsaturated group, a non-polymerizable non-stick agent, and a material inert to the organopolysiloxane and capable of absorbing the non-stick agent, and if desired up to 10 wt. per cent of a cross-linking agent for the organopolysiloxane. Suitable non-stick agents include dialkyl or alkyl aryl polysiloxanes, octyl myristate, butyl stearate, dodecyl oleate, dioctyl phthalate or adipate or sebacate, tricresyl or trioctyl phosphate, diphenyl oxide, squalene and polyalkylene glycols and ethers and esters. The absorbent may be e.g. wood flour, asbestos dust or powdered plastics. There is preferably 0À5-40 p.b.w. of non-stick agent per 100 of curable polysiloxane, and 0À1-3 per part of absorbent. In an example a methyl polysiloxane containing OH groups is mixed with colloidal silica (filler), ethyl orthosilicate (cross-linking), octyl myristate (non- stick), wood flour (absorbent) and dibutyl tin dilaurate (catalyst) to give a paste for lining a cast-iron tile mould.
