Abstract

1,189,996. Reconstituted foam material. GENERAL FOAM PRODUCTS Ltd. 18 Sept., 1967 [23 Sept., 1966], No. 42597/66. Headings C3C and C3R. Reconstituted foam material is prepared by mixing particles of a comminuted foam material, a foamable resin composition and fibrous material comprising separate or monofilamentary fibres until the fibres are uniformly and individually dispersed throughout the foamable resin composition and causing the foamable resin composition to foam and cure to bond the particles and fibres into a coherent body. The fibres are suitably cellulosic and may be from 1/16 to 3 inches in length and of 2 to 300 denier thickness. Preferred comminuted foam material is polyurethane, rubber latex, rubber sponge or cellular rubber and the foamable resin composition is preferably a foamable polyurethane composition.
